Abstract

Weather apps have become an integral part of everyday life, providing users with
important information about weather conditions and forecasts. However, with the
increasing awareness of the importance of health, integrating health features into weather
apps can provide significant added value. This study aims to develop a weather app with
health features using the UX Journey approach to ensure an optimal user experience. The
UX Journey approach focuses on mapping the user journey from start to finish in using the
app, identifying touchpoints, and understanding user needs and expectations at each stage.
In this study, we integrated health features, such as air quality index (AQI), humidity levels,
and pollution levels, which can impact user health. In addition, we added health
recommendation features, such as actions that can be taken to reduce the negative impacts
of extreme weather or air pollution. To measure the effectiveness of the health features and
the overall user experience, we conducted user testing and collected feedback through
surveys and interviews. The results showed that adding health features to weather apps
provides significant benefits to users, especially in the context of maintaining health and
safety. In addition, the UX Journey approach helps in designing an intuitive and easy-touse
interface, and ensures a satisfying user experience. This study contributes to the field of
weather app development by introducing the integration of relevant and important health
features for users. The findings can also be a basis for other app developers to apply the
UX Journey approach in creating applications that are more focused on user needs and
experiences.
