Abstract

This study aims to adapt the Flexibility Scale (FS-24) into Indonesian to be used as an instrument that has been tested for validity and reliability. The process of adapting the measuring instrument in this study follows several guidelines for the adaptation process from the International Test Commission (ITC) in 2017 version 2.4. This study uses a non-probability sampling technique using the accidental sampling method. The results showed that the Flexibility Scale (FS-24) had psychometric properties that were theoretically insufficient in some analyses. The Flexibility Scale (FS-24) which consists of three dimensions has a theoretically insufficient reliability value in one dimension. The fit measures value in the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) reviewed from the CFI, TLI, RMSEA, and SRMR indices show that the values are theoretically insufficient to be said to be fit. In this study, an additional analysis was carried out to review the properties of psychometrics after the reduction of items by removing items whose loading factor value was < 0.4 and balancing the number of items in each dimension. The Flexibility Scale, which initially consisted of 24 items, became 15 items. The results of the psychometric property test of the 15 items showed good reliability and validity values and were theoretically sufficient. The Flexibility Scale (FS-15) is a short version of the Flexibility Scale (FS-24) that can be used in measuring individual flexibility, especially in the fields of psychological assessment, personality research and positive psychology.
