Abstract

Colorful Tourism Village in Jodipan Village, Malang is one of the transformations of residential environments that has succeeded in changing the appearance of the area from a slum to a tourist destination. The purpose of this study was to find the transition of community behavior caused by changes in the physical and social environment. Changes in community behavior in social, environmental, health and economic aspects are carried out through adjusting the conditions of ordinary villages to Tourism Villages. This study was conducted qualitatively and used a single case study. Data were collected through documentation, interviews with tourism managers, community leaders, and residents. This was done to understand how physical changes in the location impact social interaction patterns, livelihoods, local community lifestyles and public health. The results of the study showed that changes in the village also encouraged social, environmental, health and economic changes in community behavior. Now people are more aware of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness for the sustainability of tourism than before. In the theory used with the concept of survival of the fittest , where people undergo behavioral changes for their future life journey after the existence of the Tourism Village and see the survival of the community. The emergence of economic behavior with new businesses that have changed the way people live. This study shows that community behavior is significantly influenced by physical changes in the area. Waste management, parking, and privacy are issues faced by the community. However, they also show high adaptability by forming a management committee and working together with various parties. According to this study, complex community behavior has changed as a result of the transformation of the Colorful Tourism Village.
