This research was conducted in the Green Open Space of Genteng District, Banyuwangi Regency with the aim of finding out what strategies are applied by street vendors to survive. The method used by the researcher used a qualitative case study method, this case study method encourages social problems and conditions. The results of the study showed that street vendors in the Green Open Space each had various strategies for survival. In addition, street vendors also showed high adaptability to changes in the environmental conditions of the Green Open Space, such as changes in consumer tastes, competition between traders. And the researcher's findings are also related to the various challenges faced by street vendors, including limited capital for street vendors, training activities provided by traders. Green Open Space has become a source of livelihood for street vendors in survival, although the income is uncertain but by selling in Green Open Space can fulfill the economy of the trader's family. And the Green Open Space environment that becomes conducive because of the formation of managers or community groups in Green Open Space called Laron Boro. In the theory of "Survival Of The Fittest" which is divided into three parts, namely improvisation, adaptation and overcome, which is the relationship with street vendors who have 3 parts of the theory with traders who have strategies, adaptation to the environment or weather changes and the achievements they can. The results of this study are expected to provide a deep understanding of the contribution of the informal sector to the economy and the challenges faced by street vendors in maintaining the stability of their income. This understanding is important for formulating effective policies in supporting the development of the informal sector and improving the welfare of street vendors.
