Abstract

The implementation of Green Organizational Culture (GOC) is a crucial strategy for sustainability in the hospitality industry. Rayz Hotel UMM has adopted green practices, such as energy efficiency, waste management, and reduced plastic use. However, challenges remain, including the absence of clear written policies, low employee engagement, and inconsistent environmental awareness. This study aims to analyze the implementation of GOC at Rayz Hotel UMM, identify challenges, and propose optimization strategies. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that while some sustainability initiatives, such as automatic irrigation systems and waste sorting, have been implemented, inconsistencies persist. Employee participation in green initiatives remains voluntary due to the lack of binding policies. To enhance GOC adoption, structured strategies such as clear written policies, employee training, and an effective monitoring system are necessary. Optimizing GOC implementation is expected to improve operational efficiency, strengthen the hotel’s reputation as an eco-friendly establishment, and contribute to sustainability in the hospitality sector.
