ANALISIS USABILITY PADA SISTEM WEBSITE SEKOLAH MENGGUNAKAN METODE HEURISTIC EVALUATION (STUDI KASUS: WEB.SMPITALKHAIR.SCH.ID)

SMPIT Al-Khair utilizes the website web.smpitalkhair.sch.id as a platform for information and communication. However, potential usability issues may affect the user experience. Usability refers to the process of optimizing the interaction between users and systems interactively, enabling users to obtain accurate information or complete tasks on the application more efficiently. This study aims to analyze the website's usability using the Heuristic Evaluation method. This method involves five evaluators assessing Nielsen’s ten principles to identify usability problems. The research findings reveal an average severity rating of 1.538, categorized as low-priority improvement. However, two aspects with the highest severity were identified: Help users recognize, diagnose, and recover from errors with a score of 4 and Consistency and standards with a score of 3.5. Both aspects are classified as usability catastrophes. Additionally, two aspects showed moderate issues, three aspects displayed minor issues, and two aspects required no improvement. This study recommends improvements in the accessibility of search features, layout design, and website performance to enhance the user experience. The Heuristic Evaluation method has proven effective in identifying usability issues and providing targeted recommendations for improvement. The study also suggests conducting interviews with the development team to gain additional insights into the website's design and development. Overall, this study provides guidance for improving the quality of information services through enhanced website usability at SMPIT Al-Khair.
