Abstract
Fertilizer subsidy is a fertilizer whose procurement and distribution are fully supported by the government for farmers' needs at a price that is cheaper than the normal price implemented on the basis of a government program. Rubber plantations in the province of South Kalimantan are a superior commodity so that there is a lot of interest from the community to cultivate rubber plants as a source of income for local residents. This study aims to analyze the impact of the removal of fertilizer subsidies on rubber production by using a paired sample t-test to analyze production data before and after the removal of subsidies, which aims to determine whether there is a significant impact on rubber production results. The findings from the results of the paired sample t-test analysis are that the sig value obtained is 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted which indicates a significant difference in the average production of rubber farmers before and after the removal of fertilizer subsidies and for the t count obtained is 18.596 which is greater than the t table value, where the t table value is 2.021 which indicates that the removal of subsidies causes an increase in fertilizer prices, which results in a reduction in fertilizer use among farmers, which then affects their rubber production and income. This study highlights the important role of fertilizer subsidies in supporting agricultural productivity and the potential adverse impacts of policy changes on farmers' livelihoods.
