Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of leader member exchange on employee performance mediated by organizational commitment. This research uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory type. Data were collected through questionnaires, with a sample of 30 Billman (Billing Management) officers at Kebonagung using a saturated sampling technique. Data analysis employed a scale range and the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method with the assistance of SmartPLS. The analysis results show high levels of leader member exchange, organizational commitment, and employee performance, leader member exchange significantly influences employee performance, leader member exchange significantly influences organizational commitment, organizational commitment significantly influences employee performance, and organizational commitment can mediate the effect of leader member exchange on employee performance. Overall, leader member exchange and organizational commitment contribute 68.7% to employee performance, while the remaining 31.3% is influenced by other variables outside of this study. Meanwhile, the influence of leader member exchange on organizational commitment is recorded at 38.5%, while the remaining 61.5% is influenced by other variables outside of this study.
