Abstract

This research aims to: (1) describe employee retention, work environment, and employee engagement. (2) analyze the influence of the work environment on employee retention. (3) analyze the influence of the work environment on employee engagement. (4) analyze the effect of employee engagement on employee retention. (5) analyzing the work environment on employee retention through employee engagement. This research uses quantitative methods with a descriptive approach. The analytical method used was path analysis and Sobel test using SPSS 26. The population in this study were PD Cahaya Rimba employees with a sample of 33 respondents using a total sampling approach. The results of this research are (1) Employee retention is categorized as good, the work environment is good, and employee engagement is high. (2) The work environment has an insignificant positive effect on employee retention. (3) The work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee engagement. (4) Employee engagement has a positive and insignificant effect on employee retention. (5) Employee engagement cannot mediate the influence of the environment on employee retention.
