Abstract

Burnout is an emotional condition that causes individuals to feel physically exhausted and overwhelmed due to increasing task demands. Many State Civil Apparatus (ASN) experience burnout due to various factors, including interpersonal communication and organizational commitment. This study aims to analyze the effect of interpersonal communication and organizational commitment on burnout among ASN in Kota Wisata Batu. The research employs a causal associative quantitative method with a sample of 261 ASN working at Balai Kota Among Tani. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling method. Data testing was conducted using classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that interpersonal communication has a positive effect on burnout with a coefficient value (β = 0,282; p < 0.001), meaning that the better the interpersonal communication, the higher the level of burnout experienced by ASN. Meanwhile, organizational commitment has a negative effect on burnout with a coefficient value (β = -0,111; p = 0.061), indicating that the higher the organizational commitment, the lower the burnout level. Simultaneously, interpersonal communication and organizational commitment contribute 8.9% to burnout (R² = 0.089). The implication of this research is the need for strategies to improve healthy interpersonal communication and strengthen organizational commitment to reduce burnout levels among ASN.
