Abstract
The transition from high school to higher education can be an emotionally and academically challenging period for students. One of the factors that plays a crucial role in helping students navigate these challenges is family support. This study aims to analyze the
influence of family support on self-compassion among twelfth-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Kota Batu. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study involved 175 students selected through a non-probability quota sampling technique. The instruments used to measure the variables were the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MPSS) for family support and the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) for self-compassion. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that family support significantly influences students’ self-compassion, although with a relatively
small contribution. These findings highlight the importance of family support in fostering students’ self-compassion, which can contribute to their psychological well-being while facing academic pressure and preparing for university entrance.
