Abstract

Peer support is considered to play an important role in developing self-compassion, which is the ability to be kind to oneself when facing difficulties, especially in dealing with academic pressure. The aim of this study is to measure the extent to which peer support influences self-compassion. This correlational quantitative study was conducted on 173 twelfth-grade students at SMAN 1 Batu using a quota sampling technique. The instruments used included the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS). Data were analyzed using simple linear regression, and the results showed that peer support did not affect self-compassion.
