Abstract
Early marriage in Indonesia is among the highest globally. Based on UNICEF data in 2023, Indonesia is ranked 4th in the world with an estimated number of girls who are married reaching 25.53 million. Thus, Indonesia was named the country in the ASEAN region with the largest number of child marriage cases (Kompas, 2024). East Java is one of the provinces that contributes to the high number of early marriages in Indonesia. Marriages carried out under the age of 20 do not yet have a correct picture of the role of the household. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of perception of social support and self-acceptance in individuals who marry early. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach to determine the value of the independent variable from two independent variables. The subjects in this study were individuals who married early in East Java totaling 259 people and were taken using the quota sampling technique. The instruments in this study used the social support perception scale compiled by Zimet (1988) and the self-acceptance scale compiled by Hurlock (2002). From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the level of perception of social support and self-acceptance in individuals who marry early is in the high category. The implications of this research are for individuals who marry early to be able to live their married life better.
