Abstract

Trauma healing is the process of healing heart wounds in the form of trauma resulting from the past experienced by victims of natural disasters. In trauma healing activities there is a distinctive diction or choice of words to be used in the trauma healing process. The aim of this research is to describe the form of motivational diction, describe the function of motivational diction and describe the context of motivational diction for healing victims of the 2021 Mount Semeru eruption.
This research uses a pragmatic approach. The data is in the form of word choices spoken by volunteers from Padjajran University, Trunojoyo Madura University, Malang Health Police, and volunteers from Bandung City when providing trauma healing material. The data source is in the form of humanitarian activities. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, video recording, video recording transcripts, marking data, transcript identification, data coding and drawing conclusions.
The results of this research show that the form of motivational diction of the need for security is more dominant in this research, in this case it is caused by the participants experiencing a decrease in their sense of security physically and psychologically as part of the trauma healing participants. Physical security can be in the form of loss of a place to live, refugee camps that do not guarantee the safety of refugees, apart from that there is also psychological security such as loss of self-confidence, excessive fear due to disasters, etc. Therefore, volunteers are present to provide therapy or assistance through the right choice of words, this is due to the age and background factors of the audience participating in the activity. The diction functions found include those that are more dominant in functions with factors that encourage passion and enthusiasm, because in these activities the audience experiences severe trauma so that the audience's enthusiasm decreases. The diction context focuses on the S context (setting) or background, the setting includes the time setting, place setting, atmosphere setting. The time setting in this research refers to morning and evening, the setting in this research refers to refugee tents, while the setting in this research refers to sad, happy, anxious, afraid.
