Abstract

Overstock is one of the main challenges faced by companies in managing production and distribution, including Soponyono Snack, a snack food production company. Overstock can lead to increased storage costs, inefficient use of working capital, reduced profitability, and disrupted cash flow. This study aims to implement the quadratic method as a forecasting approach to minimize overstock. A quantitative method was used to measure the forecasting accuracy and effectiveness of the quadratic method compared to previous methods. The analysis revealed that the quadratic method enhances forecasting accuracy with a Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) of 34, a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 2.593, and a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 5,462%. Furthermore, the implementation of this method resulted in cost savings of up to IDR 1.800.000,00 annually. Therefore, the quadratic method proves to be an effective solution for inventory management and operational optimization.
