Abstract
This study aims to examine the influence of child-parent attachment on friendship quality in adolescents, with social competence acting as a mediator. The research design is a non-experimental quantitative approach involving 166 adolescents aged 18-21 years. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The research instruments include a friendship quality scale, a child-parent attachment scale, and a social competence scale. Data analysis was performed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results of this study show that child-parent attachment has a significant positive effect on friendship quality in adolescents. Additionally, social competence was found to play a significant mediating role in the relationship between child-parent attachment and friendship quality. These findings suggest that secure attachment between children and parents can strengthen adolescents' social competence, which, in turn, enhances the quality of their friendships.
