Abstract

Indonesia and South Korea have cooperated in achieving the national interests of each country. The cooperation carried out is in the fishery product sector. Fishery is one of the sectors that can increase Indonesia's economic growth by exporting to South Korea. The existence of high consumer demand for fish products has prompted South Korea to import from Indonesia. This study aims to explain Indonesia's interests in South Korea through the IK-CEPA in the fisheries sector. This study uses the concept of national interest. This type of research is descriptive qualitative which describes Indonesia's interests and Indonesia's fisheries exports with the 2015-2020 timeframe through IK-CEPA where data is obtained from literature studies. This research found that Indonesia's national interests in cooperating with South Korea are economic interests which include increasing exports, product diversification, foreign direct investment, increasing the value of bilateral trade as well as development and distribution network.
