Abstract
The acts of murder accompanied by mutilation is very cruel and rare act, so need proofing procress refers to Criminal Code (KUHP), Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), and other relevant regulation. For this reason, the author analyses the Proofing Process in Handling Cases of Criminal Acts of Murder Accompanied by Mutilation with Case Register Number: 124/Pid.B/2024/PN.Mlg. The research method used empiric juridical with socio legal approach based on primary data
and secondary data. The results of the author's research for proofing process in this case is in general the proofing process is suitable with regulation but several findings and obstacles were found in the proof process, there are difficulty in finding evidence, the witnesses presented were testimonium de auditu witnesses (witnesses who did not experience it directly but found out about it from other people), and there are differences between the defendant's statement and the results of the visum et repertum, the statements of forensic and medicolegal specialists, and witness statements. The author's suggestion for the government is to immediately form special regulations regarding acts of mutilation because current regulations only cover the criminal acts of murder and the removal of corpses in order to hide death.
