PENGARUH KESEPIAN TERHADAP PENGUNGKAPAN DIRI DI MEDIA SOSIAL PADA ANAK TUNGGAL

An only child is vulnerable to loneliness because they don't have siblings with whom to play or tell stories. When an only child enters the teenage phase, they will have a high curiosity about new things, such as using social media. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of loneliness on self-disclosure on social media in only child. This study used a quantitative correlation approach and used a loneliness scale and self-disclosure scale and then tested it using a simple regression test. The total subjects in this study were 147 only child adolescent in Indonesia with the accidental sampling technique being taken as a sampling technique. The results showed that there was a negative effect between loneliness and self-disclosure on social media in only child adolescents (β = -0.271) with an effective contribution of 13.8%. Thus, it can be stated that the hypothesis in the study is accepted. It is hoped that this research can be used as a reference for outsiders, be it parents, family, or the external environment, to better understand the role of an only child and provide support.
