Abstract

Literary works have long coexisted with the media, so it is not surprising that many literary works are adapted into films. The adaptation of a novel into a film is called ecranisation. Ecranisation is transformation or adoption or removal that resulted in a process of change in the form of reduction, addition, and variation changes that occur in the character, plot, and setting. Dia Adalah Dilanku 1990 Novel was adapted into a film titled Dilan 1990.The problem of this research are (1)What are the reduction of plot from the novel Dia Adalah Dilanku 1990 into Dilan 1990 movie(2)What are the addition of plot from the novel Dia Adalah Dilanku 1990 into Dilan 1990 movie?(3)What are the variation of plot from the novel Dia Adalah Dilanku 1990 into Dilan 1990 movie? The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method by using an approach of ecranisation by Eneste Pamusuk. Techniques Data analysis in this research are(1) Read the novel Dia Adalah Dilanku 1990 to get an understanding of the plot, characters, and settings.(2)Classify the novel Dia Adalah Dilanku 1990 then analyzed to divide it into categories of plot, characters, and settings.(3)Observe the Dilan 1990 film to get an understanding of the plot, characters, and settings.(4)Classify the Dilan 1990 movie and the analyzed it to divide it into plot, characters, and settings.(5)Comparing the plot in the novel Dia Adalah Dilanku 1990 and Dilan 1990 movie(6)Observing the symptoms or indications of ecranisation that appear between the novel Dia Adalah Dilanku 1990 and the Dilan 1990 movie(7)Analyze the addition, reduction, and variation of plot in the novel Dia Adalah Dilanku 1990 and Dilan 1990 movie.From the results of this study are (1)In the addition of storylines,it includes fifteen introduction(exposition) nine problems(conflict) and one settlement(denoument)(2)the downsizing of storyline,it includes seventeen introduction,thirty eight problem,five peaks and one solution(3)changes in variation of the storyline includes five introduction,fourty five problems,five peaks and one solution. so it can be concluded that there are differences in the depiction of characters,plot and setting in the novel and it’s film.
