Abstract

In this era of globalization, learning vocabulary can be conducted anywhere and anytime, using the technology of social media such as YouTube. Supported by the advancement of culture between countries, vocabulary learning can be done through various types of content in a video log. Johnny Suh, an American who is the member of famous K-Pop group, NCT 127 made this happen as the fans called NCTzen, take advantage of Johnny’s content to increase their knowledge of the language at the same time. This special segment called Johnny’s Communication Center or JCC. JCC is packaged in a creative, light, and fresh way, making NCTZen feel the impact of the learning they are doing. The design of this research is questionnaire in qualitative research methods. This research aims to find out what impact NCTZen felt after using JCC as a vocabulary learning material. This study shows the impact of increasing knowledge from how they listen to the clarity of pronunciation that Johnny does. Thereafter, this research is expected to be a reference for research in knowing the impact of learning using video logs.
