Abstract
FENIYA AGUSTINI. NIM.201810040311165. Communication Patterns of Agricultural Extension Officers in Order to Improve Understanding of Agricultural Intensification (Study on Farmers Groups in Duko Timur Village, Larangan District, Pamekasan Regency, Madura) in 2022. This study discusses how the communication pattern of extension workers to farmer groups in the context of increasing agricultural intensification to farmer groups in Duko Timur Village. In supporting the success of the extension, it is necessary to have an effective communication pattern from the extension agent to be able to change the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the farmer groups from the old method to the modern method. The purpose of this research is to describe how the communication patterns carried out by extension workers to farmer groups through the dissemination of information in increasing agricultural intensification and what are the obstacles in the delivery of extension materials. The concept/theory that underlies the research is Communication Patterns according to Joseph A. Devito (1997:344-345) by using a sociometric approach regarding data collection methods about the pattern and structure of relationships between individuals in a group. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out using the Interactive Model from Miles and Huberman, and the data validity test was carried out by data triangulation. The results of the study showed that the communication pattern formed in Duko Timur Village during the discussion was a combination of the Wheel pattern. Meanwhile, during Anjangsana, the communication pattern formed was the Y pattern. And during the field meeting, the communication pattern formed was a combination of the Wheel and Y patterns.
