Abstract

In the generation system, the use of fuel is something that needs to be considered because about 60% of the generation is fuel. To be able to manage the generation optimally, the scheduling of generators in an optimal and economical way is called Economic Dispatch. This aims to reduce fuel costs in operating the generating unit. This study uses the Chicken swarm optimization (CSO) method where the method used will be applied to optimize the operation of the generator. The expected result in this research is to be able to reduce the operational costs of generation when producing electrical power output. The CSO test is used to solve Economic Dispatch which is used in 5 thermal generator units with a load data request of 6 hours. The results of the test show that the CSO method on the Economic Dispatch obtained optimal results in the 13th test where the generation cost for 6 hours is 94.597.767.046,30. In this study also uses the Dyanamic Economic Dispatch which has a Ramp-Rate Constraint for each generating unit to produce more evenly distributed power.
