Abstract

One of the prototypes that is often used to realize the handling of neonates from the threat of various diseases is the baby incubator. A monitoring system in the incubator has shown an important role in performing intensive care for the neonate. The design of an incubator prototype that can minimize neonates from being exposed to hypothermia or hyperthermia, as well as facilitate doctors or nurses in obtaining intensive data on the baby's condition through the human machine interface, is the purpose of this research. Electronic sensors are used to assist the incubator in solving problems with 3 types of temperature sensors, namely: the DHT-11 sensor, the MLX90614 sensor, and the DS18B20 sensor. This research seeks to maintain the room temperature of the incubator in a stable condition between 36˚C - 37˚C. The results of the study show that data from the sensor can be displayed by the nextion enhanced human machine interface through the transmitter and receiver ports every 2 seconds in the form of digital numbers and graphic images. The graphical user interface on the human machine interface is neatly arranged and easy to understand. This prototype equipped with a monitoring system makes it easy for users in terms of automatic real time-data reading to save energy and time.
