Abstract
One of the problems that are often found in the Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) system is the unstable rotation of the generator, while the frequency produced by this generator is strongly influenced by the rotational speed of the generator itself. This arises due to sudden changes in load which will eventually cause frequency fluctuations. This research was made in order to reduce the bad possibility so that the probability of damage to generator control equipment and also consumer electrical equipment can be reduced. One method that is often chosen by researchers is the PID Controller, this method was chosen because of its easy-to-understand structure, as well as its reliability in a system. Problems arise when the PID Controller faces a nonlinear power system model which results in the efficiency of the PID being reduced. Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) which can handle nonlinear power systems. Meanwhile, Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) is an algorithm that is very fast in computing and solving nonlinear system design problems. Therefore, this study uses a Fuzzy coupled with a FPA-tuned PID to control the power frequency of the load. This test consists of 4 stages. First, testing the system without a controller. Second, testing the system using PID. Third, testing the MHP system with a PID controller tuned to the FPA. Fourth, testing the system using a Fuzzy PID tuned by the FPA. Based on these tests, the PLTMH system response using a Fuzzy PID tuned FPA controller has the best performance, especially in accelerating the time to steady state, reducing overshoot and undershoot, and having the fastest rise time.
