Abstract

Indonesia is a densely populated country and almost all residents in Indonesia have their own private vehicles, for example cars and motorcycles. In fact, almost every year the number of drivers in Indonesia is increasing, and as the number of drivers increases, the number of traffic accidents increases. Most of the factors that cause accidents are caused by drivers who are tired or sleepy. Therefore it is necessary to have a tool that can reduce the rate of road accidents, by adding a sleep detection system to a car. The purpose of this study is to produce a sleep detection device for car drivers by detecting the face, eyelids and counting the number of blinks using the Haar cascade method. This sleep detection prototype system uses a respberry pi 4 model B and a pi camera to detect the object of the car driver. The placement of the sleep detection prototype is in front of the car driver and leads to the car driver's face at a distance of 30cm - 60cm.
