Abstract

Balikpapan city is currently preparing for an area that will be used as a support center for Indonesia's new capital, including a 20kV distribution system that must continue to be served properly and reliably for 24 hours, there are many ways that have been done to determine that a distribution system is up to standard. and this research will calculate SAIDI, SAIFI indicators to find out how reliable the 20kV distribution system is, the combined method of section technique-RIA will be chosen as the approach method for systems and energy that fails to distribute From an economic point of view it will also be considered. the initial conditions that have been calculated have a SAIFI value of 8.6263 times/year, SAIDI 5.8405 hours/year and a loss value of Rp. 117,763,081. because this system exceeds the standard of PLN, especially on the SAIFI index, efforts will be made to improve reliability by optimizing recloser using the ant algorithm. This repair effort will be carried out up to 6 reclosers which are placed randomly. after optimization the reliability value continues to shrink and approach the PLN standard. such as when 6 reclosers are placed, the best position is on the bus 77,5,21,95,52,38 with the SAIFI value being 6.0160 times/year, the SAIDI value 2.7119 hours/year and the total loss generated has also been successfully reduced to Rp. 54,809,222.32. To prove that the optimization results are good, there is an objective function to evaluate fitness with a value that continues to decrease.
