Abstract
Banyuwangi has various traditional activities, one of which is the ritual of the Seblang Olehsari dance which is only carried out by the people of Olehsari Village, Glagah District, Banyuwangi Regency. This ritual is shown to clean the village and reject reinforcements. This is intended so that the village of Olehsari remains in a safe and peaceful condition. In the ritual of the Seblang Dance tradition, there are also pilgrimage activities to ancestral shrines, village salvation or feasts, and Ider Bumi. This study uses a qualitative method using a phenomenological approach. Techniques in collecting data in the field, researchers use observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, to analyze the phenomena in this study, the researchers used Alfred Schutz's theory of phenomenology about experiences and intersubjective knowledge in everyday life. Based on the presentation and description of the data, it can be concluded that the values of local wisdom in the Seblang dance tradition have meanings that are contained in the form of the Seblang dance movement related to gendhing, namely 1) Sapon motion or sweeping movement, becoming a reflection symbol for humans to be able to clean themselves; 2) Ukel Buang Movement as a symbol of Tolak Bala or bad luck which aims to distance oneself from unwanted things; 3) Celeng Mogok movement as a symbol of Tough and Mighty, , 4) The ndhaplang movement has the meaning of a balance between good and bad behavior. The tradition of the Seblang Olehsari dance is routinely carried out in the month of Shawwal after Eid al-Fitr, for seven consecutive days.
