Abstract

Population growth and the development of business and industrial areas that continue to increase in the city of Balikpapan have resulted in the need for electrical energy in the area to increase. In order to meet the daily electricity needs in the city of Balikpapan. It is necessary to schedule generating units using accurate forecasting results. This study proposes a forecasting method with a relatively small MAPE value. Because the MAPE value is a measurement standard to assess the accuracy of forecasting methods. The method used is a combined method of Customer Baseline Load and Backpropagation Neural Network. The results of forecasting the electricity load in the city of Balikpapan for a week, namely on September 2-8, 2020. The MAPE value was found to be 3.51e-05, with a weekly generation cost of Rp. 1,734,179,261/hour. It can be said that the CBL-BPNN method with 50 hidden layers and 1 output layer offered is in the very good category. Because the MAPE value is below 10%, and it is very good to use it to predict the electrical power load in the city of Balikpapan
