Abstract

Cognitive Behavior Therapy or popularly well-known as CBT (in this paper will be called so) is a new approach that was born after previous therapies. Although it has been widely recognized as an effective therapy for some cases of psychological disorders, some· practitioners who apply it find that for relapse, chronic and complex cases; traditional CST (as some experts have called it) less promising. Traditional CBT is considered unable to overcome all psychological problems and is not always suitable for all clients. Therefore, in the 1990s the traditi-0nal CBT further started to be developed for complex problems is well­known as developed CRT However, on the other hand, although traditional CBT is doubtful, apparently still believed its effectiveness and still recommended for relevant problems. One of them is to overcome Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). In this paper will be <lescribcd a review of several studies related to the CBT to overcome SAD. The results show that although developed CBT can be applied as an alternative therapy for overcoming SA 0, but traditional CBT still shows its effectiveness in overcoming the disorder. Even traditional CBT more superiority compared developed CBT in terms of symptoms reduction and improvement quality of life.
