Abstract

This study discusses the motivation of ustadzah in learning the Qur'an for the elderly at the Ta'lim Nur Hasanah Sawojajar Malang Council. This research was motivated by several people in the community who no longer study in the Qur'an, one of which is the elderly who have limitations. Even though the elderly have limitations, they do not give up hope to return to study the Qur'an. So that researchers want to know what motivation is given by ustadzah to the elderly so that they can istiqomah to study the Qur'an. This research is a field research with a qualitative approach and type of case study type. Sources of data using primary and secondary data. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative with inductive analysis technique, namely the researcher described the facts obtained from the research place and then analyzed. The results of the study indicate that there are several motivational efforts made by ustadzah in learning the Qur'an, namely: 1). Generating interest in reading the Qur'an again by explaining the virtues of reading the Qur'an, the benefits of reading the Qur'an and the wisdom of Surah Ta-Ha. 2). Creat a fun learning atmosphere by insert jokes, the existence of adequate facilities, giving praise or suggestions during learning and the existence of collaboration that is created so that the elderly are excited. 3). Instilling positive values in everyday life by explaining the virtues of giving alms, getting used to reading the Qur'an at home when there is free time and providing fiqh, monotheism and morals material, it is hoped that the elderly can always remember Allah. There are also several obstacles experienced by ustadzah in providing motivation, namely: 1). In the psychological aspect, the age factor is an obstacle because the elderly find it difficult to pronounce the hijaiyah letters and sometimes forget. 2). In creating a learning atmosphere, there are still elderly who do not concentrate during the learning process. and 3). When instilling positive values into the elderly, the perceived obstacle is the need for the right way in conveying or inculcating concepts because the elderly are old and need repetition in explaining.
