Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the differences in financial distress in the two company sectors. The financial distress analysis model used is the Zmijewski method with variables return on assets, debt ratio, and current ratio. The population in this study were all mining and transportation sector companies using purposive sampling as a sampling technique with a sample of 35 mining and transportation companies that met the criteria. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics, Zmijewski method calculation, normality test, and hypothesis testing. This study cannot prove the existence of differences in financial distress between companies in the mining sector and the transportation sector.
