Abstract

This study aims to examine the Gubuk Baca Lentera Negeri (GBLN) community program in changing stigma about ex thugs. Research questions, including: 1) How does the Gubuk Baca Lentera Negeri program change the stigma about ex thugs in the Jabung? 2) What are the support and inhibiting factors experienced by Gubuk Baca Lentera Negeri in changing the stigma about ex thugs?. In this study using qualitative research methods with descriptive research types so that in conducting this research researchers need time to dig up valid information in the form of documents, as well as interviews from research subjects and informants. Triangulation is used to explain the validity of the data by using the source. The results of the study showed: 1) Gubuk Baca Lentera Negeri has a program in which there are ex-thugs who go directly to teach childrens, elementary and Islamic elementary students. 2) There are inhibiting factors, namely the absence of public trust in the Gubuk Baca Lentera Negeri community and supporting factors, namely the enthusiasm of each individual to carry out positive activities and change their behavior which is considered to deviate from community norms.
