Abstract
This research is a qualitative descriptive that study about how Indonesia's efforts in culinary promotion or gastrodiplomacy in the United States. Gastrodiplomacy is currently a trend that along with globalization and developed by several countries which is quite effective in nation branding. Indonesia is also developing gastrodiplomacy in the United States as an effort to introduce Indonesian culinary specialties so that they are more familiar and Indonesia becomes better known. This study discusses how Indonesian gastrodiplomacy efforts in the United States apply the concept of nation branding Hexagon Simon Anholt in its discussion. The results of this study indicate that in the various efforts to promote Indonesia cuisine in the United States, food festival is the most closely related and contributed to almost all elements of the Hexagon nation branding. As for the actors that involved of Indonesian gastrodiplomacy in the United States, not only the governance has an important role, but there are another actors who took a part in promotion of Indonesian culinary, such as Indonesian diaspora in which the diaspora also contributed the most in each implementation.
