Abstract
The sudden transition from traditional face-to-face learning method into online learning can be stressful for students. This is a descriptive quantitave research using accidental sampling technique to describe the levels of academic stress among students in University of Muhammadiyah Malang during online learning throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 211 students participated in this research are from 10 Faculties in Muhammadiyah Malang University between year 2017 to 2020. Perception of Academic Stress (PAS) Scale was used in this study which statements are adjusted to online learning contexts. The result shows that majority of the subjects are having moderate academic stress which indicates a manageable academic stress level for students. The three aspects of academic stress including aspects related to academic expectations, aspects related to workload and test difficulty, and aspects related to students’ academic self-perceptions are on the moderate category as well. Results of this study are expected to help students regulating their academic stress and identify high risks students as the main target of an interventions.
