Abstract
United States is one of the countries with highest rates of sexual gender violence in the world. Tarana Burke, together with people and sexual violence’s survivors in United States are created a movement which could bring changes on the victims. This study described about #MeToo Movement’s role as an action against sexual gender violence in the United States. There are plenty of sexual violence’s victims, but most of them are scared to come forward and to make a report on these matters that they have received. Therefore, this study is explained about how does #MeToo Movement’s social action helped sexual violence victims. Descriptive qualitative method is being used on this study and Global Civil Society as the concept which explained and analyzed the role of #MeToo Movement that helped the victims. This study also used library research method from books, articles, journals, online news and the other sources to gather all the data which related to this study. Results of this study indicates that #MeToo Movement’s role as an action against sexual gender violence in United States has succeed on helping the victims to come forward and United States government also changed their policy about sexual violence issues.
