Abstract
The research was done by taking data at Lamongan Regency Fishery, Sea, and Livestock Serv, Lamongan Central Statistic Office and East Java Central Statistic Office. It was done at June 20th to July 29th 2007. This research was aimed to find out the production development and the value of livestock production to Gross Regional Domestic Product 1995-2005 at Lamongan regency, contribution of Lamongan livestock sub-sector to Gross Regional Domestic Product before Regional autonomy (1995-2000) and after regional autonomy (2001-2005), and the ability of livestock sub-sector as economic base in Lamongan Regency. This research was useful as information source for Lamongan government for consideration in policy making in livestock and also improving the investors’ trust to invest their capital at Lamongan regency, also improving the public’s trust to the work of Lamongan government in regional development. Research object used was data from Gross Regional Domestic Product based on constant price at Lamongan Regency in 1995-2005, Gross Regional Domestic Product based on constant price at East Java Province in 1995-2005, and husbandry product value in 1995-2005 at Livestock Department of Lamongan Regency. Research method used in this research was survey. The development of livestock sub sector production value to the Gross Regional Domestic Product, started from 1995-2005 has increased in 39,51% value, also the development of husbandry production also increased. Especially, chickens with 16,91% rate. Contribution of Lamongan husbandry sub-sector to Gross Regional Domestic Product before regional autonomy (1995-2000) was 1,15% and after regional autonomy (2001-2005) increased to 1,88%. Husbandry sub-sector was a non-basic sub-sector, or in other words, husbandry sub-sector would be developed in Lamongan with a good capital, regional improvement, better marketing, and also investors to invest their capital in Lamongan regency.
