Abstract

Motivation is the main factor that can help students to achieve the goals that had been set before. With motivation can help student in learning, especially help student in learning foreign language. This study is aimed to describe the motivation to learn Arabic language of Arabic department students’ in Thailand and the factors that influence the motivation to learn Arabic language of Arabic department students’ in Thailand. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Collecting the data used questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The results showed that the motivation to learn Arabic language of Arabic department students’ in Thailand is integrative motivation and instrumental motivation. This study also revealed that the factors that influence Arabic study program students in Thailand to learn Arabic are integrative factors, religious factors, professional and practical factors, academic factors, economic factors, and other factors such as family, teacher, and surrounded.
