Keywords: Method GMA, Memory, Vocabulary Arabic ABSTRACT This study was to determine the effectiveness of the GMA (Ghina Mufradat Arabi) method based on audiovisual media to improve the memorization of Arabic vocabulary for grade VII A students at SMP Muhammadiyah 02 Malang and this study used an associative quantitative approach. The population in this study was class VII at SMP Muhammadiyah 02 Malang, amounting to 86 students consisting of four classes. The research sample taken by the researcher was the control class which amounted to 21 students and the experimental class which amounted to 22 students. This research technique uses purposive sampling using two classes in the study. While the research data collection used was a test (pretest and posttest) and a questionnaire. The results from research on GMA method (Ghina Mufradat Arabi) based on audiovisual media to improve Arabic vocabulary memorization of grade VII A students at SMP Muhammadiyah 02 Malang using normalized N-Gain-based effectiveness test as for the results of the two classes, namely control class and experimental class experienced significant comparative results, in this case the control class got 24,88% results while the experimental class got a result of 34,28%, it can be said that the method of ghina mufradat Arabi based on audiovisual media that is implemented in one of the classes called the experimental class is fairly effective and fall into the medium category. The categorization is based on a table ofnomized Gain criteria according to Archambault. From the explanation above, it can be seen that the method of ghina mufradat Arabi based on audiovisual media in this study provides a significant success rate in improving the memorization of Arabic vocabulary in students.
