Abstract

In a literary work, there are similarities or differences in terms of structure or intrinsic elements in the story. The writers sometimes realize or don’t realize these similarities and differences, either in the form of a patterned transformation to continue or with a storyline that is inversely proportional to the previous work. This intertextual research was studied to determine the differences, similarities, and linkages between previous literary works and literary works afterward so that the purpose of this study is to describe the comparison of the intrinsic elements between Habiburrahman's PPC novels to Mia Chuz's WA novels, explaining the relationship between the hypogram text form of the PPC novel transformation. Habiburrahman's work to Mia Chuz's novel WA, and explains the influence of the author's background on intertextual relationships. The method used in this research is qualitative research. Sources of data used in this study consisted of two novels, namely the novel "Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra" by Habiburrahma El Shirazy and the novel "Wedding Agreement" by Mia Chuz. The research data used are in the form of words, phrases, and sentences which are described through dialogue between characters, either in the form of direct or indirect sentences as well as the narratives found in the two novels. Data collection techniques in this study are to read and understand data sources, identify data according to problems, and classify data according to the research topic being studied. The data analysis technique used is the content analysis technique. The results of the research that have been done describe the comparison of the intrinsic elements in the two novels, there are four forms of the hypogram, namely expansion, conversion, modification, and excerpt. The form of modification is the most dominant because a lot of data in the story has been modified in the plot and setting and there is an extrinsic influence on the writing of the work that affects each writing so that the two works are related and it can be concluded that the novel Wedding Agreement text is a transformation text. from the novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra.
