Abstract

Kailan (Brassica oleraceae L.) is a vegetable crop from China brought to Indonesia in the 17th century. Kailan or Kale is a source of vitamins A, B, C and minerals, such as Ca, P, Na, F, S, and Cl. Kailan can be harvested form a baby (40 - 50 days). Cultivation technique for kailan still depend a lot on the use of inorganic chemicals. As a result, it can damage the biological, physical, and chemical of the soil. Soil improvement efforts can be carried out with an organic farming system using livestock waste. Animal urine is one of the ingredients that can be used for liquid organic fertilizer. The research was conducted in February - April 2020. The experiment used a factorial randomized block design (RBD). The first factor, liquid organic fertilizer (POC) with 4 levels: (P0) without POC, (P1) cow urine POC, (P2) goat urine POC, and (P3) rabbit urine POC. The second factor was the Kailan variety with 3 levels: (V1) Winsa, (V2) Full White, and (V3) Yama F1. The observation variables included: POC nutrients, number of leaves, plant height, stem diameter, moisture content, fresh weight and dry weight of plants, fresh weight and dry weight of roots, and leaf area. Data were analyzed with the F test at 5% and 1% and continued with the BNJ test at 5%. The results showed that the interaction of the two treatments had a very significant effect on plant dry weight and root dry weight, had a significant effect on water content and plant fresh weight with the best treatment of rabbit urine + full white POC. The POC factor showed a very significant effect on plant height (28 dap), root fresh weight, and leaf area and had a significant effect on the number of leaves (21 and 28 dap). Variety factors had a very significant effect on stem diameter (7 days), root fresh weight and leaf area. Overall rabbit urine POC and full white varieties showed the best results.
