Abstract
The incidence rate of cosmetic side effects is high in Indonesia, proven by always in the findings cases of cosmetic side effects on the practice of a dermatology. The reaction of cosmetic side effects is quite severe due to the addition of additive ingredients to enhance the whitening effect. Regulation of BPOM head number HK. OO. 05.42.1018 year 2008 on cosmetic materials that the cosmetic products to be manufactured and circulated in the market must have a product license issued by BPOM. One of the factors of cosmetic safety is seen from the material used where one of them is not contaminated heavy metals in the form of mercury, lead and Arsen. However, in fact, there are still many harmful cosmetic products that are not listed BPOM and sold free in the market the purpose of this research analysis is to analyze mercury content in facial whitening cream cosmetics that have not been listed BPOM as well as to analyse the utilization of research results as scientific articles. The study used library studies with data sources taken from three research outcomes in different regions. The type of research activity is a qualitative study of library research. The results of this analysis show that out of 30 samples analyzed from three research data, only 1 negative sample of mercury, namely Fazza cream that originated from Medan City. Mercury content in facial whitening Cream cosmetics varies. Highest mercury content is found in the Temulawak cream in Medan City of 4.81. Average mercury rate on the highest face whitening cream cosmetic products in Medan City amounted to 1.43 ppm. The results of this study were later developed into a media source learning in the form of scientific article.
