Abstract

Handling activities tend to increase the risk of musculoskeletal disorders or MSDs when done with the wrong method. One of the handling activities that has a high risk of MSDs is activity nursing. This study aims to assess the risk of different nurse MSDs at Muhammadiyah hospitals using MAPO (Movement and Assistance on Hospital Patients). This research was conducted in two hospital ward units in Muhammadiyah University Malang. Based on Preliminary observations using the Nordic Body Map questionnaire it is known that in general the nurses experience musculoskeletal disorders especially in parts back and waist. It is necessary to analyze the level of exposure to the musculoskeletal disorders of the nurses. One method of analysis is the MAPO Index. From the results of the study, the values are obtained in the seruni chamber is 2.38 and the mawar chamber is 2. with the level of analysis that is occurs in both treatment rooms are in the medium category (yellow code), it is necessary to make medium to long term improvements to eliminate risk.
