Abstract
Mortar (mortar) is a mixture composed of mixing cement, sand and water or from mixing cement, lime, sand and water. mortar composed of 3 types namely: lime mortar, mortar cement, and composite cement and lime mortar. Terms of both species in the science of building materials are: strong, durable, stick with good, quick drying water seepage resistant, inexpensive, does not cause cracking after installation. The price of cement is usually quite expensive to reach by most people, to overcome this problem it is necessary to find an alternative replacement material for cement. This is done by reducing the amount of cement and reduce the amount of cement and replacement material which adds to the replacement material has the same function as the cement as a binder in the mix, in this study used a substitute material is a red cement. The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of red cement as a partial replacement material in a mixture of cement mortar / mortar. The samples used as the object of study amounted to 126 pieces for compressive strength, 126 pieces for tensile strength and 126 pieces for flexural tensile strength with 6 variations of the mixture. From the results of research from the description above does not happen optimal value of compressive strength because the value of the average compressive strength produced by the addition of red cement at 97 143 kg/cm2 for the FAB 65% smaller than the value of the average compressive strength without using a cement mixture of red 102.85 kg/cm2. Likewise with tensile strength tensile strength did not happen optimal value because the value of the average tensile strength produced by the addition of red cement amounted to 20 694 kg/cm2 for FAB55% smaller than the value of the average compressive strength of the mixture without the use of red cement amounted to 22.29kg / cm2. While the flexural tensile strength values did not occur because the optimal flexural tensile strength value of the average produced by the addition of red cement at 55.69 kg/cm2 to FAB 45% smaller than the value of the average compressive strength of the mixture without the use of red cement amounted to 60 428 kg/cm2. Value of standard mortar mix ratio serves as a comparison to the compressive strength of cement addition of red as a partial replacement of cement. From the test shows that these results indicate that there is influence of mixture composition on compressive strength, tensile and bending.
