Abstract
Dance extracurricular at SD Negeri Punten 01 Batu is the best extracurricular because many achievements have been received. There are many students interested in following the extracurricular, it has 60 students involve in the extracurricular. The coaches of the extracurricular implemented character building during the activities. This study aims to describe: (1) The implementation of life skill education in character building through dance extracurricular activities at SD Negeri Punten 01 Batu; (2) The implementation of character values in dance extracurricular at SD Negeri Punten 01 Batu. Qualitative and descriptive were used in this study as research approaches. Data sources in this study were 60 students involved in the extracurricular. The students consisted of first grade until fifth grade in the 2019/2020 period. This study has been held in March 2020 until April 2020. Research instruments in this study used observation notes, interview guides, and documentation sheets on dance extracurricular at SD Negeri Punten 01 Batu. The results of this study were as follow: (1) The implementation of dance extracurricular as the same as learning in the classroom which consisted of cognitive aspect, affective aspect, and psychomotor aspect. In cognitive aspect, the students learned about the kinds of dancing, timing, and moving. Affective connected with characters, and psychomotor connected with life skill. (2) Character values applied in dance extracurricular activities at SD Negeri Punten 01 Batu. All of the character values in PPK have been applied such as religious, nationalist, independent, teamwork, and integrity. Conclusions of this study were as follow: 1) The Implementation of life skill in character building through dance extracurricular at SD Negeri Punten 01 Batu appropriate with 2013 curricula which have been used by the school; (2) There were some sub-values in the character-building which did not appear.
