Abstract

Ariestha Teza Adipratama, 201810030311078, Behavior and Psychosocial Problems of Online Gambling Students in Malang City. This research focuses on describing the behavior (front stage and back stage) shown

by students as online gamblers. The aim of this research is to find out whatpsychosocial problems are faced by online gambling players. The method used inthis research is a qualitative descriptive method with dramaturgical theory byErving Goffman. This theory has a conceptual application which is divided intotwo; front stage and back stage. Data collection was carried out by means ofobservation, interviews and documentation.

The results of this research show that the description of foreground behavior (frontstage) is by covering up bad habits, this happens (back stage) because ofencouragement from oneself, friends and the environment. Psychosocial problemsthat occur include anxiety and anti-social disorders. The advice given to onlinegamblers is to change bad habits (gambling) by filling their free time and/or sharingstories with those closest to them.
