Abstract
The research was descriptive research titled: Remiten role in increasing the immigrant family income (Case Study at Tanggul Kulon Village Tanggul Sub-District Jember Residence). The research aimed to find out the average remitten received each month by immigrant family in Jember residence, in order to find out the remiten usage in increasing immigrant family income in Jember Residence whether from consumtive or productive, to find out the remiten contribution in increasing immigrant family income in Jember residence, and find out the relation between monthly remiten with Indonesia workforce demography character consisted of age, sex, education, and occupation. Population in this research was immigrant family in Tanggul Kulon village, Tanggul sub-district, Jember residence. Samples were 50 respondents using purposive random sampling, the samples taking according to the certain criteria. The criteria was Indonesia workforce from the immigrant family has been outside the country for 2 years. Another criteria was the Indonesia workforce was legal work force (having license in working abroad). Variable measurement was done using likert scale. While the used analysis were contribution and correlation analysis. The research showed that total remiten received by immigrant family in Tanggul sub-district Jember Residence was Rp 50.450.000,00. The fund received by each immigrant family also influenced by one of their family who had occupation as Indonesia work force (working abroad). Most of immigrant family used the remiten to fix the house, since the measurement model in the village where Indonesia work force could be said success if they were able to buy new house or renovate their house. More than 100% remiten contribution to the immigrant family income in Tanggul Kulon Village, Tanggul Sub-District Jember Residence. The average total contribution respondents found 318,6% value. It showed that the remiten was able to increase the income of immigrant family. The relation between monthly remiten with Indonesia Work Force characteristic showed positive relation. Higher the age, education and work, would be larger the remiten of immigrant family.
