Abstract
North Korea is one of several countries detected to possess and develop nuclear weapons. But unfortunately, by North Korea, it was misused. They are known to often carry out nuclear tests which are certainly very unsettling the international community. China, which is the closest ally of North Korea, has always been in a difficult position due to North Korea's actions. After being tired of using its diplomatic strategy, China decided to turn around and support the sanctions resolution of the UNSC. That is certainly not an ordinary thing, considering that in the past China was very adamant about resisting participating in imposing sanctions on North Korea. This study discusses the changing behavior of China towards North Korea. The method or type of research used is explanative, while the theory or concept used is the International Regime theory proposed by Stephen Krasner. The results of this study indicate that one of the reasons behind the change in China's behavior to North Korea is due to the pressure from external parties which will certainly be able to have a big influence on China. In this case, the intended external pressure is coming from the United Nations and several other countries. Based on that pressure, China finally decided to approve the draft sanctions resolution from the UNSC in 2016 ago.
