Abstract

Every lesson has an educational contribution for students. Productive
Literary Skills learning is no exception. This course aims to develop students' skills
in literature through directing activities. By doing directing activities, students will
produce drama performances that aim to develop their characters. The purpose of
this study is to describe the process of drama learning and the process of students
in producing drama.
This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The approach used is
descriptive. The research data is in the form of the learning process of productive
literary skills courses and the process of producing drama for Indonesian Language
Education students class of 2020 in the academic year 2022/2023 even semester,
namely Teater Sandyakala class A and Teater Manah Nirmala class B. The data
sources in this study are the results of observations, interviews, and documentation
on the lecturers and Indonesian Language Education students class of 2020 in the
2022/2023 academic year. Data collection is located at the University of
Muhammadiyah Malang. The data collection techniques used were observation and
interview. The data analysis technique used descriptive methods, and the data
triangulation used was source triangulation and technique triangulation.
The research results obtained from this study are that the learning process
of Productive Literary Skills has implemented best practice drama performances
classified into three aspects, namely learning preparation, learning implementation,
and learning outcomes. There are two stages of learning preparation, namely
delivering the RPS (Semester Learning Plan) and Lecture Contract, as well as the
group mapping stage. The implementation of learning has the stages of learning
models, discussions, presentations, and scenes. Learning outcomes consist of
evaluation and awarding. Meanwhile, the process of producing drama is classified
into three aspects, namely performance preparation, performance implementation,
and performance results. The preparation aspect of the performance has the stages
of rehearsal time, rehearsal duration, and group management. The implementation
of the performance has the stages of registration, consumption, lighting, song
instruments, fashion and makeup, and stage management. In the results of the
performance, students will produce an award and a promptbook or copy of the
