Abstract
Background: Stroke hemiparese is a disorder in the blood vessels that inhibits the flow of blood and oxygen in one part of the brain or hemisphere. Stroke hemiparese can brings weakness on one side of the body. These weaknesses result in decreased motor function. To overcome these weaknesses, interventions that can be given are proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and mirror therapy to improve motor function. The Aim: This study aimed to determine the combination effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and mirror therapy on upper extremity motor function in hemiparese stroke patients at RSJ dr. Radjiman Wediodinigrat Lawang. Methods: This study design used pre-experimental research design with one group pretest-posttest design. The use of measuring instruments motor function in the form of ARAT (Action Reaserch Arm Test). Respondents in this study as many as 12 people by used purposive sampling techniques and there is one oroup intervention is proprioceptif neuromuscular facilitation and mirror therapy (n=12). Results: The result of analysis wilcoxon test obtained significance value 0.002 (p<0.05), so that it can be concluded that H1 was accepted. Conclusion : There is the effect of a combination of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and Mirror Therapy on Upper Extremity Motor Function in Patients with Hemiparese Stroke in RSJ dr. Radjiman Wediodinigrat Lawang.
